Google is rolling out a new Business Profile feature that lets you set up automated replies to frequently asked questions (FAQs) from customers.

This feature lets you suggest questions that people can ask when they message your business through your Google Business Profile. Similar to how a customer service Chabot works on a company website.

You can also set up automatic replies to questions, Chabot style.

This feature was discovered by SEO specialist Stefan Somborac, who shared his findings on Twitter:

There is no official announcement about adding the automatic Google Business Profile FAQ, but I have confirmed the new feature by checking out this Wayback Machine help page. The FAQ section wasn’t in the cached version of the site last month, which means the rollout happened in the last few weeks.

How to set up automatic FAQs on your Google business profile

Businesses can now pre-populate a list of questions for customers to ask when they start a chat from your Google profile.

You can create an answer for each question that is sent automatically so that customers don’t have to wait for an answer.

If you get the same questions frequently, this is a great opportunity to save time and serve your customers more efficiently.

You can also use this feature to get customers to leave Google and direct them to your website. Feedback can include a link, so feel free to direct customers to a page on your site that answers their question.

Follow these steps to enable automatic FAQs for your Google Business Profile:

  1. Search for “my business” on Google in a web browser.
  2. Click Customers and then click Messages.
  3. Click Menu, then Message Settings, then Manage FAQ.
  4. Click +Add Question

You can ask ten questions about the company profile. Questions can be up to 40 characters long and answers up to 500 characters long.
